Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia (PPM) will host the International Union of Muslim Scout(IUMS) 3rd International Peace Jamboree 2008.
Date : 18th– 24th August 2008
Venue : Melaka Scout Camp, Bukit Katil, Melaka, Malaysia
(The Jamboree site is located 155 km from Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA))
Weather : The country is generally warm throughout the year with temperatures ranging from 21° to 32° Celsius. Annual rainfall is heavy at 2,500mm (100 inches). The high humidity level at 80% throughout the year favors light and sweat-absorbent material like cotton for daily dressing
Eligibility - Participant : The activities are designed for 13 to 17-year-olds. Each country may send at least one patrol, each consisting of not more than ten scouts and two scout leaders
Eligibility - IST : Scout Leaders aged 18 years and above are welcome to serve in the International Service Team (IST). Applications must be made through their respective National Scout Organizations (NSO)
Fees for local Participation :
Scouts 13– 17 years: RM300
Scout Leaders / IST (18 and above) : RM400
fee covers the activities and transportation, campsite and facilities, food, administration, participants’ pack and souvenirs.
All participants, leaders and International Service Team are required to send their application forms through their respective NSOs. The closing date is 31July2008_________________
